Family Ancestry
Family lineage can be traced through many historical documents. Researchers interested in societal structure recorded detailed genealogical information. Government employees documented family history through school records, community health accounts, and most famously through the Indian Census Rolls. Missions also kept detailed accounts of Native Californian genealogy through baptism, marriage, and burial records.
